Promoting Okinawa with Adventure Travel Trade Association and Visit Okinawa Japan tourism board. Okinawa is a destination where adventure, culture, and longevity combine, kayaking through ancient mangrove forests, exploring pristine coastlines, and learning about spiritual traditions at sacred sites like the Stream of Ukka. The journey highlighted Okinawa’s commitment to sustainability through marine conservation efforts at Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island, where vibrant reef life—including anemone-dwelling fish, needle fish, angel fish, and red lionfish—reflects the success of responsible tourism. As one of the world’s renowned Blue Zones, Okinawa also offers insight into healthy longevity, with a traditional diet centered on sweet potatoes and taro, exemplified through a hands-on Yakuzen Ryuka cooking experience with Chef Miyazono, featured on Netflix’s Live to 100: Secrets of the Blue Zones.
Special thanks to ATTA and Alex Okuma for helping produce this video documenting these adventures.
