Poetic Kinetics’ OTHERWILD at San Antonio Botanical Gardens

We created a video highlighting Otherwild, an immersive outdoor art exhibition by artist Patrick Shearn and Poetic Kinetics at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.

The exhibition features Flora Borealis, a custom Skynet installation made from lightweight materials that move with the wind. Inspired by the natural motion of birds and fish, it floats above the garden and shifts throughout the day.

Otherwild also includes Enchanted Trees, a grove of ten imaginary tree species. Reflective branches, fluttering leaves and translucent canopies interact with the sunlight, wind and surrounding landscape.

As videographers and editors, we focused on capturing the movement, scale and details of the artwork. Wide shots show how the installations connect with the garden, while close-ups highlight the changing reflections, shadows and textures.

Our finished videos show how Poetic Kinetics combines art and nature to transform the San Antonio Botanical Garden into a colorful, immersive environment.
