Filming “Where the Wind Lives” at Garvan Woodland Gardens

We created video content for “Where the Wind Lives,” a large-scale kinetic art exhibition by Patrick Shearn and Poetic Kinetics at Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Three site-specific Skynet installations are woven throughout the garden. Made from lightweight materials, each sculpture moves with the wind and transforms the sky into a changing display of color, light and movement.

As videographers and editors, we focused on how the installations interact with the surrounding trees, garden paths and natural light. Wide shots capture their scale across the landscape, while close-ups highlight the movement and texture of the individual pieces.

Our finished videos show how “Where the Wind Lives” brings art, engineering and nature together to create a new way of experiencing the gardens.

The exhibition is included with admission at Garvan Woodland Gardens.
